Advanced Hepatic Cirrhosis with Ascites
Dr. Zhu Weimin (April 23, 2023)
Medical Case 10: Hepatic Cirrhosis, Ascites
The patient is a 23-year-old male. In the largest hospital of a major city in China, he was diagnosed with advanced hepatic cirrhosis with ascites. The doctors stated that the only solution was a liver transplant, but it was very expensive. Being from a rural area, he couldn't afford it. His mother was desperate and constantly crying. Later, I contacted them by phone and told them to go back home. They were instructed to take herbal medicines for a period of time and make adjustments to their diet. I prepared a list of foods to consume and avoid, as well as a daily program of activities to do or avoid.
After a month, we started the sound therapy that I had developed for them. After just 20 minutes of listening during the first session, the patient experienced diarrhea. Upon returning to his room from the restroom, he noticed that the ascites had completely disappeared from his abdomen. Subsequently, he felt discomfort while taking diuretics. At that time, I called him to instruct him to stop all medications and focus solely on the sound therapy, listening to it at least twice a day for a minimum of 20 minutes each time. He was also advised to continue following the recommended diet. After a ten-year follow-up, there has been no recurrence.
